Android App Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 3, 2026

OneOpenSociety (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the OneOpenSociety website at https://oneopensociety.com and the OneOpenSociety mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our services.

By using the website or App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. Who we are

For privacy-related questions, data requests, or complaints, contact us at the email above.

2. Information we collect

A. Information you provide

When you create an account or use our services, you may provide:

  • Account information: username, email address, password, and other registration details
  • Profile information: display name, profile photo, cover photo, bio, website, location or address (if you choose to add it), and other profile fields
  • User-generated content: posts, comments, reactions, stories, messages (including text, images, and voice messages), group content, event details, and other content you share on the platform
  • Communications with us: messages you send when you contact support

B. Information collected automatically

When you use the website or App, we may automatically collect:

  • Usage and activity data: posts you view, interactions (likes, comments, follows), groups you join, and other in-app activity
  • Device and connection information: IP address, browser or app type, operating system, device model, and general technical logs needed to operate and secure the service
  • Session and authentication data: login sessions, access tokens, and security-related logs

On the mobile App, we store certain account credentials locally on your device using secure storage (for example, login tokens and basic account identifiers) so you can stay signed in.

C. Information from device permissions (mobile App only)

The App may request access to your device only when you choose to use certain features:

  • Photos and camera: to upload profile pictures, post photos, attach images in chat, or create stories. We only access photos or camera data when you initiate that action.
  • Microphone: to record and send voice messages in chat. We only access the microphone when you choose to record a voice message.

The App does not continuously collect your precise GPS location. If you use “check in” or location-related profile fields, that information is based on what you enter or choose to share, not automatic background location tracking.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the OneOpenSociety website and App
  • Create and manage your account
  • Enable social features such as profiles, posts, messaging, groups, and notifications
  • Display content you and other users share
  • Communicate with you about your account, security, or support requests
  • Protect the safety and integrity of our community, including detecting abuse, spam, and unauthorized access
  • Improve and troubleshoot our services
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information in these situations:

  • With other users: Information you choose to make public (such as your profile, posts, and comments) is visible to other users according to your privacy settings.
  • With service providers: We use hosting and infrastructure providers to run our website and App. These providers process data on our behalf to deliver the service.
  • For legal and safety reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of OneOpenSociety, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Push notifications

Push notifications may be offered in the future to alert you to messages, activity, or other updates. If enabled, your device may receive a push token used to deliver notifications. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

6. Cookies and similar technologies (website)

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you logged in
  • Remember preferences
  • Maintain security
  • Understand how the site is used

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some website features.

7. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. We may also retain certain information as required by law, to resolve disputes, enforce our terms, or protect our platform.

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us at app@oneopensociety.com. Some information may remain in backups or logs for a limited period before being deleted.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account or certain data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

You can also:

  • Update profile and privacy settings in your account
  • Control who can message you, follow you, or see your activity (where those options are available)
  • Revoke App permissions (camera, microphone, photos) in your device settings

To exercise your rights, email app@oneopensociety.com. We may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure local storage for sensitive App credentials. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity on your account.

10. Children’s privacy

OneOpenSociety is not intended for children under 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

11. International users

OneOpenSociety is operated from [your country]. If you access our services from outside that region, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries where our servers or service providers are located. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your own.

12. Third-party links and content

Our services may contain links to third-party websites or content. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If changes are significant, we may provide additional notice through the website or App. Continued use of our services after changes means you accept the updated policy.
